| Description | Dollar Brand Quitting Again 'No Scope Here' – Only nine months since his return to home town, Cape Town's renowned jazz pianist, Dollar Brand, has once again decided to pull up his roots and leave for the continent. To many people, especially hardened jazz enthusiasts, his decision has come as a great shock. His return , they claim, gave Cape Town's jazz scene a new life but it may now slump back into non-existence. At the moment his busiest assignment is a composition he is writing for the Danish Radio Orchestra. It is a piece for seven instruments which does he describes as a tone 'poem'. On his last visit to Copenhagen, Dollar arranged quite a number of works for the same orchestra, which performed them on television. |
