| Description | October 1958 - When tall bearded and be-goggled Guy Warren - the Ghana drummer who had been drumming in America for about three years - walked into Drum's Accra offices to say 'hello' to his old schoolmate, Henry Ofori, editor of Drum, an idea was born. This idea resulted in the Drum Jazz Festival, held at the Accra Community Centre, (30/10/58) and attended by over 600 people who, if they had known, would be thankful to the chance meeting between the two old schoolmates. |
